How can I legally obtain personal documents (HS diploma, birth certificate) from my mother in CA?

I am 20 almost 21 years old and I don't speak to my mother. She has no interest in speaking with me either. I have emailed her requesting that she send me my personal documents that she still has, mainly my birth certificate and high school diploma. She ignored my email and I don't know how else to obtain these documents. They are MINE and I need them. Is there anyway I can use the legal system to subpoena them from her or anything? We live in CA.
